We had a large, gilt-framed oil portrait of one of my ancestors. As a result of decades of exposure to smoke and other neglect, both the painting and its elaborate frame were in a sorry state of repair. Fortunately, we came to you and found the answer to all of our prayers. The gilded plaster-and-wood frame had several dents and divots, and the painting itself had many issues ranging from tears in the canvas to flaking paint. Once again, you came to our rescue. You and your restorers were able to reverse the effects of more than 130 years of wear and tear. The portrait, restored with your help, is now part of the permanent displays at the Harris-Cameron Mansion of the Dauphin County Historical Society. In sum, we could not have accomplished so much without your assistance and expertise. We came to you with a heavily damaged 19th Century family heirloom and were able to return it to its original condition. This fine historic piece is now available to the public as a part of the story of our nation’s history. You can be assured that Art and Frames will be our first stop if we ever need expert art appraisal and restoration. Again, many thanks.
