About Nancy Medina
The Great American poet Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, “The earth laughs in flowers…” Texas artist Nancy B. Medina, CAE, has found a way to express that statement through her art. Nancy’s paintings depict rich color pushed to extremes in an expressionistic style. Created with palette knife and oil, Nancy’s florals and landscapes draw in the viewer with a sense of vibrancy and evocative texture. Inspired by the impressionistic masters, she used a dramatic palette to create new interpretations of familiar shapes and forms in nature – with a goal of invoking color with a real sense of movement.
Nancy grew up on an organic farm in East Texas and often got into trouble in school for “doodling” in the margins of her school assignments. Today, she travels throughout Texas photographing the unique floral and botanical inhabitants. Nancy has worked professionally in design and publishing for over 20 years. She is a member of the prestigious Oil Painters of America. Nancy’s art has been featured in print and Web publications and on the covers of magazines including Science Editor and The Journal of Emergency Nursing.
